Facilities Master Plan

Effective, creative and flexible spaces that inspire boys and staff to learn. The Newington College Master Plan has been developed in response to the educational strategic plan outlined in this document. By its very nature, this is a Master Plan subject to change and refinement. All new facilities must meet high educational and environmental benchmarks as a matter of policy.

The College Council has approved the following broad projects although the timing of commencement or the priority order for implementation has yet to be gazetted.

Wyvern Prep
    • Year 6 Centre above Zimmerman Library
    • Upgrade of music facilities and Hall
    • Upgrade of Braeside play spaces
    • Early Learning Centre
    • Improved science facilities
Lindfield Prep
    • Cater for additional Years 5 and 6 classrooms
    • Early Learning Centre

    • Year 7 Centre
    • Drama Centre
    • Sport facilities – indoor and ovals
    • Parking station
    • New pedestrian access off Stanmore Road
    • Additional outside tennis/basketball court
    • Upgrade and additional bedrooms for Edmund Webb Boarding House
    • Purchase of residences for rental to staff
    • A teaching kitchen to add a vocational hospitality option for the Secondary curriculum
Further possible long-term wish list items under review for our Master Plan include:
    • New foyers for the Secondary Music Centre, Chapel and Centenary Hall for improved usage of each place and to gain disability access to the Performance Hall on level 3 of the Music Centre.
    • Additional provision for Years 7 and 8 within the Boarding House
    • A student communications centre
    • A student well-being centre
