The Service Learning program is governed by five fundamental principles which include:
Leadership and Service: Service should be the base criteria for student leadership in the College community
Community Service in action: Service Learning should be considered more than just fundraising but rather a willingness to contribute positively to society
Developing relationships over time: There should be an emphasis on re-uniting existing community relationships and building new and long-lasting relationships
Consistent with the founding traditions of the College: The Service Learning program should ensure a strong link with the Uniting Church ethos while also acknowledging the College’s historical links
Educational basis: All Service Learning activities should attempt to involve critical thinking skills and links to the classroom.
