2003 – 2012
The past ten years at Newington have witnessed a incredible transformation in the school, both physically and internally. The development of the Internet and online technologies have radically changed the way in which teachers and students engage in the classroom, and the introduction of the IBDP has brought with it myriad new opportunities for senior students. On the sporting field, few will forget the successes of all our GPS competition teams – from the many Basketball premierships that line the New Gym, to the famous 51-7 defeat of St Joseph’s College at home, to the unprecedented AAGPS victories in both Athletics and Swimming in 2012. First under Headmaster David Scott and now under Headmaster Dr David Mulford, the campus has continued to expand through developments such as the Music Recital Hall and now the long-awaited Rae and Pyke Learning Centres. These innovations, together with 140 years of innovation and achievement, have made Newington College to be a school of which we must all be proud as we step forward into our Sesquicentenary year.
