The brand new state-of-the-art Technology Centre promotes new and emerging technologies to enhance the learning experience of the students and provide them with a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Technology Education.
There are five multi-material workshops, two materials-specific rooms used for the wood-based courses, two dedicated graphics studios and a mill room.
The department’s computer room runs the latest three-dimensional drawing packages and digital media programs. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a major focus for the department.
There are many opportunities for students to appropriately integrate these technologies into their project. For all years, CAD (Computer Aided Drawing) is used to generate three-dimensional product models and working drawings. The department has a range of Epilog laser cutter, Roland MDX 650 mill (CAM), Projet 3000 3D Printer and vinyl cutting machines, which are used across all Technology subjects.
