CO-CURRICULAR

The F1 in schools co-curricular runs from the Technology centre. Students have been entering the UNSW Solar Car Challenge for a number of years and have experienced success at both State and National levels. We have also entered the University of Wollongong engineering competitions and achieved a range of successful results.

Technology Awards

University of Wollongong

  • Patrick LaiĀ Runner-Up of the Telecommunications Engineering Module in the 2013 Year 12 Engineering Studies Competition.
  • Jack Stevens, winner of the Illawarra Coal Electrical Engineering Awards in the 2013 Year 11 Engineering Studies Competition.
  • Jack Stevens, winner of the Engineering Fundamentals Module in the 2013 Year 11 Engineering Studies Competition.
  • Jordan Spira, overall Runner-Up of the 2013 Year 12 Design and Technology Competition.

NSW HSC Design and Technology

Zubin Nanavati (ON 2013)

  • Ranked 4th in the state for Design and Technology. Band 6.
  • Project selected for DesignTECH Powerhouse Museum display and also regional NSW tour.

Jaicob Dick (On 2013)

  • Band 6 in Design and Technology (one of only 2 Premiers Awards for the College).
  • Selection for possible inclusion in DesignTECH display.

Jordan Spira (ON 2013)

  • Band 6 in Design and Technology.
  • Selection for possible inclusion in DesignTECH display.

2014 National Champions (Development Class) F1 in Schools

Team Quantum won 1st prize in the Development class at the National F1 in Schools Finals. The team is made up of Year 9 boys Anton Maraldo, Sebastian Hodge, Evan Favos, Roger Li and led by Mr Paul Honeywill. The team also took out the categories for Most Energy Efficient, Best Team Portfolio and Best Team Pit Display.
